Overview of CRA and the preparation strategy
The EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), which will come into effect in December 2027, entails a complex compliance process. Furthermore, the documentation detailing this process is in English and can be difficult to navigate. Manufacturers also face a significant ongoing burden, as the regulation requires continuous compliance efforts even after products have been shipped.
While major manufacturers have already begun their preparations, many domestic (Japanese) manufacturers are only just starting to consider how to address these requirements.
In this session, we will first provide a clear, accessible overview of the CRA.
We will then outline the necessary steps for achieving compliance, as well as the requirements for post-shipment support.
Linaro, which is headquartered in Europe, is the only company offering end-to-end support for the CRA—including long-term support (LTS) for products after they have reached the market.
Additionally, we employ a large number of maintainers in the field of embedded Linux and consistently rank as a top contributor to the Linux Foundation.
